What is this?
Road to White Coat is a totally FREE newsletter for soon-to-be licensed medical doctors and practicing doctors in the Philippines! Here we talk about life experiences and ideas you need to equip yourself with when you leave the training. If this is your jam, you’re in the right place!
Who are you?
I’m Karen Cas-Alinas, M.D., a former doctor in PH, a professional content writer based in Toronto, Ontario, and the brain behind PLE QBank (the first medical board exam practice test app in the Philippines).
Looking back to my academic years, I received a Latin Honor together with my undergraduate degree, Bachelor of Science Major in Biology, at Far Eastern University. I finished my medical education and training at FEU-NRMF and became a licensed doctor. After two years of medical practice, I found myself holding my visa and ready to take on a new journey in life. I took the flight and started a family in a first-world country.
My love for medical knowledge and writing coincides with my current career. Then one day, I realized I wanted to start a publication that could inspire, motivate, and educate Filipino medical students. Hence, Road to White Coat was born!
It eventually evolved into Road to White Coat and Beyond to produce content not only for medical students but also for licensed medical doctors in residency training or moonlighting.
Think of me as your ate or tita - sharing stuff that isn’t part of your medical curriculum, but things that you might need as you grow and be the person you want to be.
